I’ve been enjoying experimenting with combinations of classical elements with electronics recently, so I was really happy to get the opportunity to work with the great pianist and composer Tom Hodge, to see where we could go with the fusion. The result is the new Fragmented Self EP, which is out now on Fields.
We explored a few different possibilities ranging from the attempt to fuse extreme opposites in the title track Fragments of Self, to the distorted mayhem of falling off a cliff, and Quantet, where I chopped Tom’s orchestral session into tiny pieces and built something unnatural.
The EP comes with a remix from one of my favourite artists at the moment – Petrels, if you don’t know his stuff already I highly recommend a listen. He’s done an amazing job on the remix of Fragments of Self, stripping away those nasty glitches and getting down to the nice stuff in a really live organic sort of way.
The EP comes in two parts, with the second part coming in a few weeks, AND, a music video from Nick Cobby for Fragements of Self, which is pretty stupendous (that good!). I hope you like some of this new work.

I am so disappointed in this country…’lest we forget’…unless they are First Nations
Fucking Toronto Police! I really hate Canada.
I keep watching this over and over, and can’t understand why they arrested them. Seems like it’s for ‘being disruptive’ or some shite. Same guy has been harassed by cops before: http://toronto.mediacoop.ca/story/davyn-calfchild-assaulted-police-retaliation-prote/18712
What the shit. All I can say is this…
